EMD's LEGEND IMC™ (Integrated Metrology Center) is a highly accurate, extremely versatile 3D measuring platform, and the first truly affordable advance in coordinate measuring machine (CMM) technology in more than twenty years.

It has the same accuracy and a lot more versatility than today's half-million dollar gage lab CMM. It features a highly stable granite base, graphite precision air bearings and the SCEPTRE™ Constant-Contact Scanning System, with powerful, user friendly software -- all at a price well within your budget.

It can be configured either as a vertical or horizontal measuring machine or a combination of both. For greater flexibility, the LEGEND IMC™ has a variety of probe-holding extensions that can be attached to the vertical platform, so that probes can be positioned more efficiently over the work being inspected.

Equipped with EMD's patented SCEPTRE™ System constant-contact scanning probe and evaluation software, the LEGEND IMC™ can obtain continuous three-dimensional data from the most complex parts, known or unknown.

That's because scanning eliminates the need for costly and complex data-aquisition programming -- you don't have to tell it what to inspect, it tells you what it is inspecting.

The Legend IMC™ also can employ contact and vision scanning probes, simultaneously. Data acquired in constant-contact scanning mode can be combined by the software with data obtained by vision scanning. All this information can be combined and evaluated by the software without regard for its source!

The LEGEND IMC™ comes equipped with SCEPTRE™ System constant-contact scanning probe, controller and evaluation software. Available options include vision probe and software, rotary table and extended Y-axis. Contact us today   for a price quote. You'll be pleasantly surprised!

General

Granite structure with lapped metrology surfaces.
Optimally spaced preloaded journal air bearings.
Axes powered by high-speed DC servo motors at a positioning velocity of approximately 50 mm (2") per second.

All three axes are equipped with linear encoders which have uncompensated accuracy of 0.5 microns over their full length.

As standard equipment, the SECPTRE System allows the performance of inspection tasks beyond those of the most advanced measuring system in the world.

Note: All of the above specifications are basically met by the built-in mechanical accuracy of the structure and are coupled with appropriate computerized mathematical compensation as needed.
